UGAHacks X - Truist Challenge
Money Stretch
About the Project
Money Stretch is an interactive financial education platform that gamifies financial literacy through quizzes, data visualization, and AI-powered financial analysis. Built by a team of four for the Truist challenge at UGAHacks X, our goal was to make complex financial concepts like balance sheets, income statements, and EBITDA more accessible, engaging, and fun for students and young professionals. By combining gamification, AI-powered data parsing, and real-time financial insights, we created a tool that helps users improve their financial understanding while earning rewards.
Our platform allows users to upload financial documents, even in messy CSV formats, and uses AI to automatically parse and extract structured financial data. Users can then visualize financial trends over time, compete in interactive quizzes, and earn points and badges to track their progress. Through achievement-based rewards, Money Stretch makes learning about finance as engaging as a game.
Developed over a 36-hour hackathon, Money Stretch showcases our ability to combine software engineering, AI, and UX design into a seamless user experience. As a team, we tackled challenges like data inconsistencies in financial reports, authentication management, and real-time data visualization, ultimately building a scalable, intuitive, and impactful financial education tool. MoneyStretch earned an honorable mention from the Truist team for its innovative approach to gamifying financial literacy and leveraging AI to simplify financial data analysis.
